With the divisiveness that has occurred around the recent State fiscal crisis, it is more important than ever to come together as a unified community to celebrate the things on which we can agree:
Wisconsin is a great place to live because of our awesome festivals!
With that in mind, the Grand Chute Kiwanis Club is inviting everyone to attend WestFest - coming back to the Grand Chute Town Hall grounds on August 20th!
Thanks to the generosity of our local major sponsors and business partners, WestFest will be FREE. The committee was expecting tickets to be at least $10 per person, but there will once again be no entrance charge at the gate for any of the musical events.
That's right - admission is FREE to Reverend Raven and the Chain-Smoking Altar Boys (blues), Grand Union (country), The Britin's (Beatles tribute), and - back by popular demand - Separate Ways (Journey tribute). This line-up (and perhaps some surprise bands yet to be determined) provides a full spectrum of music genres for your entertainment on the big stage.
New events this year include a morning 5K run/walk to benefit Cerebral Palsy, a Fire Department country-style breakfast, and the "Grand Bazaar" of local crafters, farmers, and businesses.
Popular items returning for another run include a huge tent of children's games, a "Grand Raffle" with cash prizes and gifts, a beer garden, a fish boil (sold out last year!), the "Taste of Grand Chute" food vendors, the fire department demonstrations and open house, and - of course - the Mud Creek Minnow Races!
If you would like to be a sponsor or donate a raffle item, please e-mail Jim March.
