Large Redevelopment Project UnderwaySite work has begun for redevelopment of the former National Envelope Corporation property on the northeast corner of I-41 and W. Wisconsin Avenue. Greene Development Appleton LLC, is preparing the site for construction of a world-class retail development. The first phase of development includes construction of a 94,000 sq. ft. retail center for WG&R Furniture, extension of N. Westhill Blvd. into the property, and roadway upgrade on W. Wisconsin Avenue to improve traffic safety.
Future plans for development on the Greene Development Site include opportunities for an additional 129,000 sq. ft. of retail space, over 18,000 sq. ft. of restaurant or other retail space, and additional space to accommodate a hotel or office building. Site layout has been carefully planned and designed to create a destination that will attract other quality commercial retail/service businesses to the development.
This redevelopment project will revitalize a highly visible site along the I-41 corridor that remained idle for several years, further enhancing the regional hospitality and entertainment district in Grand Chute. The Town created Tax Increment District No. 3 to support this redevelopment project and make necessary upgrades to public infrastructure in the surrounding area. The district will incorporate future projects on the west side of I-41, between the interstate and Casaloma Boulevard.
