The Town of Grand Chute established the Community Development Department to meet the needs of the citizens, promote the public health and safety, protect property values, plan for efficient and adequate streets and utilities, protect natural resources, enhance the beauty of the landscape and man-made developments, and provide healthy surroundings for family life.
The Town has divided the functions of the Community Development Department into five divisions:
PLANNING & ZONING
- Provides direction for future private and public development
- Reviews development applications for compliance
- Provides staff support for Plan Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals
BUILDING INSPECTION
- Reviews building plans for residential and commercial projects
- Issues building permits
- Inspects construction through building completion
- Issues Certificate of Occupancy
ASSESSOR'S OFFICE
- Determines property that is assessable in the Town.
- Updates property assessments and property descriptions
- Values the real and personal property according to State Statutes
MAPPING
- Maintains Town Official Map, Parcel Map and Zoning Map
- Updates street, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water main maps
CODE ENFORCEMENT
- Enforces Zoning Code requirements
- Enforces Nuisance Code requirements
