SUMMER RECREATION PROGRAMS


Summer Youth Park Program

The Town of Grand Chute will be providing another great Summer Park Program!  There are many new and exciting activities and fieldtrips being planned for the program this year, including Breakfast in the Park, Crazy Color Day, and a trip to Bay Beach and the NEW Zoo.  The 2008 Summer Park Program will run from June 10 through August 8 (off the week of July 4th) with the following schedule:

Tuesday morning: Lions Park (ages 5-8)
Tuesday afternoon: Lions Park (ages 9-12)
Wednesday morning: Arrowhead Park (ages 5-8)
Wednesday afternoon: Arrowhead Park (ages 9-12)
Thursday morning: Patriot Park (ages 5-12)
Thursday afternoon: Carter Woods Park (ages 5-12)

Morning sessions run from 9:00 a.m. -12:00 noon and afternoon sessions are held from 1:00–4:00 p.m.  The ever-popular ice cream social fundraiser is planned for July 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in Carter Woods Park.

There are two easy ways to register: (1) stop by the Town Hall Administration window on Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., or (2) download a registration form and either drop it off at the Town Hall or mail it with your payment to:

The cost of the eight-week program is $20 for one child or $30 for per family.

Tennis Lessons

Group lessons for junior boys and girls will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays of each week at Lions Park in Grand Chute beginning on June 9 and ending on July 16.  Classes will be coed and will be grouped according to ability and age as follows:

ELEMENTARY, Grades 3-5, 11:00-12 Noon
MIDDLE SCHOOL, Grades 6-8, 12:45-1:45 PM
HIGH SCHOOL, Grades 9-12, 1:45-2:45 PM

Class sizes will be limited to 12 students, however, extra classes will be added if necessary.  There will be two instructors for each class.  Adult lessons will meet once a week on Mondays from 4:30-5:30 PM.  (Note: Alternative lesson times may be worked out to fit the schedule of the adult students.)

INSTRUCTORS

Lessons will be taught and supervised by Tom LaFountain: USPTA Developmental Coach, High School Coach of 30 years, and Ranked State Player.  A skilled assistant will be hired as well.
