1825 North Bluemound Drive, Appleton, Wisconsin
Board Room (Room A137)

Virtual Meeting Public Access: 608-620-9722 Conference ID: 937 490 200#

Prior to the Public Hearing, citizens are invited to discuss budget questions with FVTC administrators—Dr. Christopher Matheny, President, or Amy Van Straten, Chief Financial Officer.

Contact Sarah Bingham, Assistant to the President, at 920-735-5731 or e-mail her at bingham@fvtc.edu to arrange a discussion with either Dr. Matheny or Ms. Van Straten.

The mission of Fox Valley Technical College is to provide relevant technical education and training to support student goals, a skilled workforce, and the economic vitality of our communities.

2022-23 Budget Highlights
  • The proposed budget supports delivery of the College’s progressive program agenda, serving over50,000 people annually. The College offers over 250 associate degree, technical diploma, trade apprenticeship and certificate programs in addition to providing customized training for business and industry.
  • Consistent with the restrictions imposed by state statute, the College will limit its operating tax levy increase to the amount available from net new construction (estimated at 1.5% of total property value). Because the debt levy remains flat, the total tax levy will increase only 2%. The total mill rate applicable to property owners is estimated at $0.907018. The owner of a $100,000 property will pay an estimated $91 for technical college purposes, compared to $90 this year.
  • The budget includes support for three new degree programs and one new apprenticeship: Collegiate Transfer (Associate of Arts), Collegiate Transfer (Associate of Science), Baking and Pastry Management (Associate of Applied Science) and Industrial Metrology Technician (Apprenticeship).
  • The budget funds several important facility-related investments, including a new Construction Management Technology Program Outdoor Jobsite Lab offering a true-to-life experience in both construction and construction-project coordination. The Jobsite Lab will be located on Waupun Road in Oshkosh. The College will also begin remodeling the Culinary Arts, Baking and Food Service areas at the Appleton Main Campus, implementing a design that incorporates technology and dedicated labs to enhance student learning .
