Special assessment and special charges are levied for improvements made and services provided to property owners. They are considered to be liens against the property and are due from the property itself, regardless of ownership. Special assessments billed during the year will appear on the tax roll unless they are paid in full.
Special charges that appear on the tax roll include: garbage (refuse); recycling; delinquent water, sewer, or stormwater; weed control; snow removal; or street lighting.
Special assessments and special charges are due with the first installment of your tax bill.
