Ambulance, the primary ambulance transport provider for the Fox Valley. Under this tiered system, fire personnel provided EMS first response patient care prior to the arrival of Gold Cross Ambulance, or in conjunction with their personnel already on scene. Recognizing the value of these services and seeking to have an even greater impact on the care for those in our community, our organization upgraded to the emergency medical technician non-transport service level in 2014. With this increase in service, firefighters received additional training which enhanced their ability to assess and treat patients utilizing advanced level skills and interventions not available at the first responder level.

Continuing to realize the value of providing the highest level of pre-hospital care to the citizens and visitors of Grand Chute in the most timely manner possible, the GCFD once again upgraded its level of EMS service in 2021 when it began providing paramedic-level advanced life support (ALS) first response service in conjunction with our transporting partners. Under this system, every staffed piece of GCFD apparatus is equipped with ALS equipment and personnel.
