The Grand Chute Fire Department requires a key lock box system to be installed to facilitate the rapid and non-destructive entry of fire department personnel to verify the existence of a fire or other emergency situation on the following types of buildings:
Building owners and property managers can now purchase key box products and receive fire department approval for orders online at http://www.knoxbox.com/.
- Newly constructed commercial, industrial, and residential multifamily structures.
- Existing commercial or industrial structures protected by an automatic alarm system or automatic suppression system.
- Existing multi-family residential structures that have restricted access through locked doors and have a common corridor access to living units.
- Existing nursing care facilities.
**Be certain to indicate that your are within the jurisdiction of the Grand Chute Fire Department**
Once obtained, the key boxes shall be installed at or near the main entrance to the building, at a height of not less than four feet and not exceeding six feet.
