NOTICE OF SOLICITATION OF ZONING BOARD OF APPEALS MEMBER
The Town of Grand Chute has an opening for the Zoning Board of Appeals. The appointee will serve out the remainder of an existing term which expires May 31, 2024.
The Zoning Board of Appeals shall have the power to hear and decide applications for interpretations of the zoning regulations and the boundaries of the zoning districts.
The Zoning Board of Appeals shall have the power to hear and decide appeals where it is alleged there is an error in any order, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official in the enforcement of Chapter 535 of the Grand Chute Municipal Code. The Board may reverse or affirm, wholly or partly, or may modify the order, requirement, decision or determination appealed from and may make such order, requirement, decision or determination as ought to be made and to that end shall have all the powers of the officer from whom the appeal is taken.
Variances
The Zoning Board of Appeals shall have the power to authorize upon appeal in specific cases such variance from the terms of Chapter 535 as will not be contrary to the public interest where, owing to special conditions, a literal enforcement of the provisions of Chapter 535 will result in unnecessary hardship and so that the spirit of the Chapter shall be observed and substantial justice done.
The Zoning Board of Appeals meets once a month and only if an application for a Variance is submitted.
Applicants with past development (public or private) and/or legal experience is preferred, but not required.
Board members shall reside in the Town of Grand Chute. Any interested party should complete the application for appointment and provide any relevant background and qualifications by: November 28, 2023.
