Family-Friendly Fire & Life Safety Outdoor Event
The Grand Chute Fire Department is excited to see Jesse Pickett Family Safety Day return Saturday, September 11th, 10am – 2pm. This is the 10th annual Safety Day and features family fun and public education on a broad range of safety-related topics. The event also showcases the numerous services and agencies that partner to provide for the safety and health of those within our community. On-site parking for this family-friendly event is free, and concessions will be available at no cost while available.
Some of the interactive activities, static displays, and educational demonstrations will include emergency and public works vehicles on display, free fire safety giveaways, firefighting and drone demonstration, hands-only CPR training, a LifeNet helicopter landing, raffles, a bounce house, children’s water fights and obstacle course, a petting zoo, and much more. New this year will be an appearance by BLURIVER Band, playing their upbeat blend of audience favorites from the past and present day.
This event is held in honor of Fire Prevention Specialist Jesse Pickett, who tragically lost his life in a car accident in December, 2013. It serves to memorialize his diligent and passionate efforts to reduce the loss of life from fires in our community. |
